What the Students Have to Say – 2010 Rice Raiser
- I think it is important to my future to learn about hunger and to find out more about what is going in the world because I might be able to make a change. - Erika

- I want to have a positive impact on the lives of others and the only way I can do that is by being aware of the struggles of the less fortunate.
- As school it is one of the most important events that we do here. To raise awareness about hunger both in our community and abroad is a vital lesson for life. - The R.R. campaign really did make me aware of all the hunger in the world. Some of my thoughts were just wanting to be able to help and how lucky I am to come home to a full fridge and shelter.
- Yes I do think it is important because who know maybe teaching me now could lead me to teaching it sometime in the future. - Some of it was pretty painful to see like all the little kids who die from hunger when I complain that I’m starving to death when I ate 2 hours ago. Emalee J
- It’s very important. We can’t just keep everything to ourselves. We’ll be hated by the world and our lives will be reduced to nothing by greed and personal want. Elise T.
- It is important to learn about hunger because I am sure that if the places were reversed and I was the one starving I’d want the rest of the world to know and to help.

- My highlight was when I did the famine because it really made me realize how these kids around the world feel. And while we could get food real easily they have to walk 6 miles just for water. Unknown

- I think that the government is doing a really good thing matching our donations! I think it makes people including me more motivated to give because they know that a little can go a long way. It is great.
