Have-A-Rice-Day on World Child’s Day

November 20 is the International Day of the Child and one of Hunger Response International’s seven Have-a-Rice-Days.
The World Food Program states that it takes just 25 cents to feed a child for a day in a developing country.

COLLECT YOUR QUARTERS! Get a bowl and start collecting your quarters now. See how many children you’d be able to feed by November 20. Then, count your coins and send them to Hunger Response Int., World Child’s Day, PO Box 2514, Abbotsford, BC. V2T 6R3. Thank you. This year, proceeds will go towards the work of Hunger Response Int. and towards helping impovershed children in Guatemala who typically often eat only one meal per day.

REFLECT: Then, on November 20th, substitute one of your regular meals for a simple bowl of rice. Think about how different life would be if you had only one similar meal a day…and sometimes that had to last you longer than just one day!
